  • Thank you for your insight on episode #093 on Love and Marriage. You spoke brilliantly about this topic! The Supreme Court’s ruling in no way changes my definition of Holy Matrimony. However, what concerns me is now that this is a law does this mean the next step is going to be that our Church is going to be attacked if we refuse to recognize same sex unions?

    • Christy, glad you found the discussion helpful! I have to admit that your last question is something I’ve asked myself, yet at the same time, I’ve tried to avoid thinking about it. Could the next step be going after the Church? Yep. Will it be? Who knows. I think the potential for increased persecution is definitely there, but that’s also why we’re stressing that we all need to focus on faith rather than fear. Have faith that, even if more persecution comes to the Church, that God has this already taken care of. That God knows what He’s doing. And even if it’s painful (as the Crucifixion was surely painful), that the resurrection will always follow. God’s got this. 🙂

  • I have to admit, as soon as I saw the title of the show I knew what it would be about. I was there during the radio show where I heard people get mad/angry at our views as Catholics and honestly…I am NOT happy about what has happened. My fear, as I sat on vacation this week after I heard the news, was what do I tell my kids. Aly being 14 and James at 8 are two young impressionable minds and honestly…I feared who they would both follow….the church or their friends. Well, I am proud to say, even at 14 (and a stubborn mind like her mom…lol) Aly chose the church. While others were putting up their “rainbow” pictures on the internet, she CHOSE to NOT put it up on hers as she follows the church’s teaching. As for James…at 8 he doesn’t understand quite yet but feels that it’s wrong also. What an amazing influence the church has been in their lives also. Thank you BOTH for being not only an amazing influence in my life but also showing ME that it’s never wrong to speak up for our faith no matter what.

  • You both did a wonderful job of bringing peace and faith into this situation where some of us were feeling a bit fearful. You’re so right to continually remind us that God is in control, even if we feel like we are on a ship being tossed about! Now more then ever, it is a time for us to move forward in trust and be missionaries of the Gospel!! God bless!!
