Every once in a while we get a surprise package in the mail and we’re not quite sure where it came from or who sent it.

Today during the program, FedEx showed up delivering a big ol’ box.

During a break I rushed down and got it, and during the next break I opened it up.

Inside was one of the most beautiful paintings we’ve seen. Whoever sent this – thanks!

It’s called “Kissing the Face of God” and was sent from “Lord’s Art” in New York.

Here’s a link, and below is a clearer photo of the painting from their website.

  • I was listening to your show this morning in my car on the way to physical therapy. By your description I was sure the picture was beautiful. When I got home I looked up your web site to see it, the emotional feeling I have looking at it is undescribable. I am a mother of three and one of them is an angle in heaven. That can be Mary kissing my angel when she got there. Thank you for a wonderful show.

    Listening from Amarillo Texas,
May God continue to shower his blessings on your family.

  • I’ve seen that painting before & always thought it would make a great Christmas card. 🙂

Morgan Weistling (the artist) has some great paintings out there. I especially like the one you received, as well as “Walking With God”, featuring St. Joseph helping the toddler Jesus learn to walk. It’s so sweet! 🙂

  • That is just beautiful! Can you tell us what is written under the painting?

  • I work on a labor and delivery unit and that picture hangs right outside the door. That picture reminds me that God is in each one off us from birth on. It is so easy to kiss a tiny infant when they are born. Such a miracle!!! But also remember God continues to dwell in each of us as we get older. Remember to give hugs and kisses to your teenagers (they have so much pressure these days) parents coworkers etc. Remember to see God in everyone hold them tight. They are all miracles no matter what age!!!

  • That painting is very beautiful. Reminds me of the song Mary did you know sung by Amy Grant. It says Mary did know you’ll one day kiss the very face of God. Thank you for sharing it with us. Ken

  • I don’t know about an Amy Grant song, but there is one by Wynonna and Kenny Rogers that brings me to tears each holiday season when it is played on the Christmas music radio channels, each and every time I hear it. I believe it is called “Mary, Did You know” and mentions Mary kissing the face of God.
I have seen this print in Catholic bookstores, and the tenderness shown is palpable.
We all know that Jesus was born, was a child and grew into a man. We really need to see Jesus from a Mother’s perspective and with a Mother’s heart and love of an infant that is so helpless and dependent on His earthly Mother.
Thank you so very much to whoever sent it, it is truly a gift of the heart. Not many people do that.
