Because the boys were also disappointed that their sister is arriving late, we decided to take them to one of their favorite restaurants: The Golden Corral.
Jennifer and I also refer to the Golden Corral as “The Golden Trough.”
We’ve also called it “Oh Yeah,” as in what we usually say when we leave: “Oh yeah, THAT’S why we don’t go there very often.”Nevertheless, we’ve all had an enjoyable dinner and I think we all needed to get out of the house and just hang out together doing something different.
We’re trying our best to be patient, but after learning this morning that Jennifer is still only 3cm dilated after one week, it’s been difficult. Getting out with the boys has been a nice change of pace.
Hang in there,Jennifer, once you start progressing again, I suspect it will go quickly. Been there, done that, lived to tell about it. Our family is praying for you!
P.S. Our restaurant of choice for the “get out of the house with a past due baby” Family Celebration was Red Robin.
I guess every girl needs to make her “entrance.” Baby girl Willits seems to be no different. 🙂
I’m so excited you’re having a girl. The whole dynamic of the family will change in such great ways!
You look beautiful Jennifer, and seem to be doing so great. You go girl! My prayers are with all of you.
God Bless,
Dawn
Oh man! The little girl is stylishly late. I can’t believe it. I am in the opposite boat, and on borderline bedrest because of it. Torture, I tell ya! (And you have seen how hyper I am!) I am praying for you. I know how much you want to see this precious baby. Good things come to those who wait.
I agree with Julie. I think as soon as things start progressing it will go by fast!
Absolutely love your show. I listen every morning. Can’t wait for 9:00 am. Love the Baby alert. My prayer are with you and your family. Hang in there, she will be here before you know it. Can’t wait to see the pictures.
BTW: I love the story about the shoe behind the TV. I am a mother of 3 boys, I laughed so hard. You have to feel so bad for them. I have a great story of the day my son went fishing can caught his brother. No real damage done. I needed a few advils after that.
Look forward to tomorrow. God Bless

The miracle of it all is that things can change SO QUICKLY. As a mommy of 5 girls I know that. I’ve been to appointments where nothing was “going on”… it can be so frustrating. My #5 was born 1 week early (don’t curse me), but the morning I went to the OB, nothing new was happening. 10 hours later I went with a friend to Barnes and Noble for some coffee. My big old belly bumped into some guy who dropped his coffee. I felt terrible and went to help him, when …. MY WATER BROKE and baby #5 was born 90 minutes later.
IT will happen …
My prayers are with you. Hang in there, God has something beautiful awaiting your lives 😀
God bless!
I’ve been checking in, just waiting for the ‘good news’….it’s anticipation at its finest! I would name the baby Carly after Carly Simon’s ‘Anticipation’ if I didn’t know better!!! She’s making a grand entrance into the ‘almost, all-male family’, and will be a ‘force’ to be reckoned with! May the ‘force’ be with you!! God bless you guys!!

Yum Yum… I love myself some Corral. But yeah, when you leave you kinda ask yourself Why? Then later your body asks you why too.
You still in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey, Greg & Jennifer…we ate at Ponderosa (similar to Golden Corral) the night before Tad was born…maybe a good sign!
If an all-you-can-eat buffet doesn’t bring on labor, I’m not sure that anything can!
Hey there guys! Golden Corral is our place of choice because everyone can have what they want to. With the rule they have to start off with a meat and vegetable. The kids love the place.
Hang in there and God Bless you and your family.
Love and Prayers,
