Apparently, Scrabble Season began today.
Last year we played what felt like a zillion games around Christmas time.
For some reason, I now have an association between Scrabble and Italian olives. We had a bunch of them last year and while we’d play, we’d munch on olives.
I have no idea why we did, but now a year later as we play our first game of Scrabble Season, I have an insatiable craving for olives.
I wonder which one of us will give in and actually go to the store to get a batch of olives.
As it looks now, with the letters I have at the start of the game, this could be the beginning of a Scrabble Season that brings Jennifer’s revenge from last year.
*UPDATE* We’re well into the game now, and I think it’s certain I’ll be losing. Throughout the entire game, I’ve had 1 consonant and 6 vowels. Just now, I sealed my defeat by drawing a 7th vowel.
I passed my turn to get a new rack of letters. It’ll take a miracle to catch up since I’m running 40 points behind.
To bad it is based on English and not Hawaiian you night be better off with lots of vowels. Happy Advent to both of you, Think of it as a time of preparation for the coming of Greg’s Scrabble dominance.
I lost.
Greg, you’ll have a chance to redeem yourself. Just wish I could get (Deacon) Tom to play Scrabble with me, more often. Enjoy your game-time together!
You’re playing in your studio? You know, it’s the weekend and you can leave the studio on the weekend.
; )
Adrianne
I challenge thee! Can we play in Spanglish?
I was just telling my husband that we need to start back up our family game night. If he read this, he would probably laugh because every time we say that, we play one game and that seems good enough for months … maybe the year.
Some of my girls are older and I bet it would work. At least it looks like fun 😉
