Greg shares what it’s like to give a sex talk about Natural Family Planning in front of his parents, Mac Barron calls in to actually complement Greg, and Greg and Jennifer answer questions for a book about how husbands and wives can be a spiritual leader for each other and their children.
Some of the questions we discussed include:
Key differences in spiritual leadership roles between husbands and wives.
What should a husband’s/father’s leadership role look like?
What should a wife’s/mother’s leadership role look like?
Ways that husbands and wives can work together to balance their roles as spiritual leaders in your household.
What can couples do when they feel like they are ‘stepping on one another’s toes’ when it comes to one another’s spiritual duties?
How does our Catholic faith enlighten us in regard to how husbands can best spiritually lead their families and what role the husband and wife has in spiritual leadership?
What are some activities/practices/characteristics that both the husband and the wife should share in equally when it comes to spiritually leading their families?
What are your “top leadership qualities/virtues” that a strong spiritual husband/father and wife/mother of the family should possess?

Our entire family recently took part in a new video for the Archdiocese of Denver. Check it out here:
The video was released in conjunction with a new pastoral letter from Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila entitled, “Family: Become What You Are.”
I was given the task a couple weeks out from the release to develop some resources to accompany the letter. So instead of going to work one day, I sat in my truck in a park facing the front range of the Rocky Mountains and wrote 20 Family-Friendly Rosary Meditations, a Month of Dinnertime Conversation Questions, and the script for the video above.
On this very special episode of The Catholics Next Door, another mobile cast! This time, Greg and Jennifer drive around their former stomping grounds in Conyers, Georgia (where they lived for almost 15 years) and give you a soundseeing tour of areas they used to see every day — including their old house! Why the trip back? Well, Greg was invited to Atlanta to speak at the 19th Eucharistic Congress, and the whole family went with him. In addition to speaking at the Congress, it was also an opportunity to see both Greg’s and Jennifer’s parents, as well as for everyone to visit with old friends. Other topics discussed in this episode include the strangeness of automatic recall of roadmaps, dealing with forgotten memories, and more! .
