Last Tuesday Kevin and Michael Bacon (aka The Bacon Brothers) stopped by the program to talk about their newest CD, New Year’s Day.
If we’d been broadcasting out of the studio in New York, we’d actually have gotten to meet them, which would have been uber cool.
I admit that I actually saw Footloose – twice – when it was released back in 1984.
I even had the novelization of the movie.
What do you want from me? I was in 7th grade.
Anyway, to my surprise I checked the mail on Saturday and found a package from Sirius. I figured it was a book or something for an upcoming guest.
Instead, to my complete and total surprise, was the copy of Footloose on DVD that you see in this photo.
There was a post-it note on the front where our producer, Adam Hamway, had written “Peel This.”
I peeled away the sticker only to find that the DVD had been autographed by Kevin Bacon himself.
If you’d told me back in 1984 that someday I’d not only get a chance to host a radio show, but would someday interview Kevin Bacon, his brother, and get an autographed copy of Footloose on something called a “DVD,” I’d tell you that you were crazy.
38-year-old guys shouldn’t get geeky over stuff like this.
